This research area will utilize adult / embryonic / fetal / umbilical stem cells for our client company's drug discovery group. The position needs a very creative, accomplished, and motivated stem cell scientist to lead efforts into stem cells research area for our client company in India. The candidate should have a doctorate degree in biological science or a related area and 15+ years of world class research experience at universities, industry and / or national labs. This exceptional individual will have a strong publication record and expertise in broad areas related to stem cell research. The methods developed using in vitro systems can be extrapolated as biomarkers into human epidemiological studies. Some of the in vitro studies, protocols and methods being used or developed by our client includes anti-oxidant studies, anti-inflammatory studies, skin lightening / tanning studies, UV protection studies, wound healing studies, hair growth studies, anti-acne sebum regulation studies, anti-obesity studies, anti-diabetes studies, anti-microbial studies, anti-aging studies, anti-cystic fibrosis studies, and toxicity screening (dermal irritation studies, ocular irritation studies, cytotoxicity studies, and mutagenicity studies).
The position requires a scientist who is an expert in the development and use of a variety of in vitro pharmacological assays to support drug development and contract research efforts of our client. This candidate should also have excellent analytical skills, strong leadership and communication abilities and proven track record of guiding other scientists.
The candidate will have a doctorate degree in cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry or a related discipline and 15+ years of experience including experience running a Biological Pharmacology department. Experience in developing and utilizing cell-based assays in a variety of cell models for some of the studies mentioned above is highly desirable.
